Given the evolving nature of the coronavirus pandemic and the extension of travel restrictions and social distancing guidelines, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the SPARK/DCIIA Public Policy Forum scheduled for June 23rd and 24th in Washington, DC.
It was not an easy decision for us to cancel this major event – a big part of what we do is bringing our members together, to share ideas and engage in valuable networking. We also were looking forward to kicking off our newly formed partnership between SPARK and DCIIA, however the safety of our community and members will always be our first priority.
Many of the topics on the June agenda will be shifted to the November SPARK Forum, and we will work together to identify a model for DCIIA members to be able to participate in that Forum. For the more time-sensitive topics, SPARK and DCIIA will be collaborating to hold virtual conference sessions throughout the summer and into the Fall. These virtual sessions will enable industry members to hear from subject matter experts, engage in discussions and share their thoughts on pressing issues.
We are all very disappointed knowing we will not be able to meet in person this June. It has been heartening over these last few weeks however to witness the collaboration among our members – sharing resources and best practices, and in helping the plan sponsor community deal with this crisis. We will continue to support you all in these efforts and work together to foster our virtual community until we are all able to gather in person once again.
Stay well and safe,
SPARK Institute
